Hand-made Papers and Products : Thailand Factory

We invest in and run a factory at Chiang Mai , Northern Thailand, which serve as a flagship of our hand-made papers and products. This factory designs as well as produces hand-made papers and hand-made products, one by one, all by the villagers there.

The handmade paper is also known as mulberry paper, as it is made from the bark of mulberry tree. The factory occupies 3 hectares and employs about 100 workers. In addition to producing mulberry papers, the factory fabricates, cuts and crafts the paper into cards, book covers and gift items. Besides, they innovate a series of hand-made products using other natural materials or mix and match the mulberry papers with other materials. The materials that they have worked on include mulberry bark, metal embellishments, shells, raffia, mesh, hempen rope or cloth.

The whole production process is environmentally friendly because after we have cut the trees, we re-grow them, and as regards wastage treatment, the contaminated water is stored in a pool which will be pumped out weekly for proper disposal.
